This is a classic American club sandwich and an overnight layered salad. Both yummy and make a great combo together!
Overnight Layered Salad Recipe
Make this one the night before, so the flavors have time to meld together into a thing of beauty.
In a tall glass bowl (straight sides), layer in this order: broccoli, 1/4 cup of dressing, yellow pepper, beets, green pepper, onion, shredded carrot, artichoke hearts, and cheddar cheese.
Tightly cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate a minimum of 4 hours. Preferably overnight.
Serve by scooping straight down through the layers, top with additional ranch dressing.
Classic American Club Recipe
The classic American club is different from what I’ve had in Holland labeled as a club sandwich, so I wanted to share the recipe I remember and spark some experimentation.
Cook the bacon over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain on paper towels.
Spread each slice of bread with mayonnaise.
On one slice of toast, place the turkey and lettuce. Cover with a slice of toast, then the cheese, bacon and tomato.
Top with last slice of toast.
